Rules

HAB Rules of Practice and Procedure

These rules are to be followed during the appeal process. Any question of procedure that arises during a hearing and is not provided for in these rules will be decided by the Panel Chair. The Administrative Tribunals Act (section 11) allows the HAB to establish rules respecting practice and procedure to facilitate the just and timely resolution of matters before it.

Participants Code of Conduct

Participants Code of Conduct

This Code explains the rights and responsibilities of those appearing before the HAB, to ensure that appeals proceed fairly, efficiently, and accessibly. The Code also describes steps that the HAB can take where individuals fail to act appropriately during appeal processes.

Practice Directive #3 Electronic Hearing Practice and Procedure The Administrative Tribunals Act (sections 12 and 13) allows and requires the HAB to make practice directives.

Decision Publication Policy

Decision Publication Policy

The HAB publishes its decisions on its own website and on CanLII. The Administrative Tribunals Act (section 50(4)) requires that the HAB make its decisions accessible to the public.
